The last two years my 2005 C6 reduces power during driving while the computer indicates that I have to service active handling. After shutting off the engine everything is normal again, but a few days later it happens again. The car went to the cardealership four times. The first time they updated the software, the second time they changed the active handling unit, the third time the accelerator, the fourth time they made a bypass for the cable loom. But now it happens again. Anyone familiar with this problem who knows a solution?
Thanks, Klokhuis (the Netherlands)
if i was you i would take it back too them and say the car is a "lemon". ive heard that if they cant fix the problem after like the 3rd or 4th time they have too replace the car or something like that.

The computer indicates "service active handling". I'm afraid I do not know any code...
I am not an expert, but I would think it has something to do with a sensor, but again, I do not know anything about technique....

I do. Well I changed the tires twice, but it is still the same brand.
Sometimes aftermarket rims and tires that are not the same size as stock can cause active handling problems. May I suggest that you PM member "shopdog" with your problem. He is usually very helpful, and could possibly point you in the right direction. Good luck.

Thanks for your advise!
No misunderstanding, I allways went to the official Corvette/GM representative in the Netherlands.

Brand of the tire doesn't mean anything, the size is very important. You need the same overall diameter as stock both front and rear. Stock fronts are 25.71" dia and stock rears are 26.85" dia.

Try replacing the BCM. I have an 05 that is being heavily modified. I had many unusual problems with my active handling. we upgraded my computer and replaced the BCM and I beleive we may have eliminated some of the problems. The BCM is cheap....under $300.00??? Might be worth a try??
so when the äctive handling" light comes on does it actually slow the car down?
It does! Living near Germany, where in some parts (as you know) there is no speed limit, it happened with 100 miles an hour and more on the left lane. When there's a fast BMW behind you and you're just overtaking it isn't a pleasure (in fact it's dangerous)!! You really loose most of the power.

This is VERY IMPORTANT with the Active Handling problem!!!

Brand means NOTHING at all but SIZE is the KEY to the problem!!!
I ran Nitto DR's that were 305/35/18 and I use to throw the Active Handling code at the track and it was usually top end.

Sorry to hear that especially when you have a BMW on your butt and you could have pulled away from him and put some distance between you. That's when my problems started. It was usually top end at the track OR off a big roll on the highway.
Geoff @ Next Level Performance tuned it out for me when I had the Nitto DR's and then I installed the wide body kit and the Hoosier's 345's and still haven't thrown a code. He fixed the problem with his tune and programming of the car. I wish you luck and you should find a good tuner over there.

I sent this topic to the dealership. I presume they can fix it now!
Thanks everybody!
As soon as I found where I can introduce myself, I will do that, but this was urgent....
