Door latch causing driver window malfunction?????
Had a problem with my drivers window not raising. You could hear some sound from the DDM but no action. For some reason I looked, after hours of troubleshooting, at the drivers door latch and noticed it was broken. It would still latch but a metal piece on the bottom had broken off. I had also noticed that the fob lock button didn't seem to lock the car when pushed also.
I took a screw driver and bridged the area in the latch to simulate the door closed and contacted. Well the window rolled up at the touch of the button and when the fob lock button was pushed you could hear the lock engage and of course the horn honk. The passive locks also worked with I stepped away from the car far enough.
I searched through GM's ES and found absolutely nothing covering this latch situation. Has anybody else encountered this?
