I've been looking at tires for several days now and have so much conflicting info from the different tire sellers a consensus of opinion from the guys using these things on corvettes would be helpful.
I want something to improve traction at the strip, quiet, good wear characteristics, and mid range in price.
I run 305-30-19 in rear and 275-35-18 in front on stock wheels. Tires are Bridgestone RE050A's. These are much quieter and the traction is a huge difference. My next set will be the same. They look and fit perfect.
I have had several sets of Kumho Ecsta SPT's on previous cars...very good all-around tire at a pretty unbeatable price
I almost always buy from tirerack.com...maybe not always the absolute best price, but I like to pay them back for being a very loyal sponsor of scca solo II events...and they've got good service and very quick/reliable delivery in my experience
So far my experience with tires has been Michelin, GY RF, and Khumos. I Stayed away from the Michelin because of cost, the GY for cost and performance, and had heard lots of positive comments regarding the Toyo T1Rs so they are ordered and on the way.
Thanks to all for taking your time to post comments.
