Shifter Lock Out A6
I am having a problem getting my shifter lock to respond. I am having to manually move the cog to release the shifter out of park. I am doing a lot of work to the car (08 coupe)and currenty have the back half of the car off. See Avatar. About the only thing I haven't tried is to plug the brake light harness back in. Does corvette have this same feature that the wiring harness would need to be plugged in for the shifter to release since it doesn't see any brake lights?

Found the Problem and Fixed it !!!!!
Well I have had some strange circumstances occur with this car. Seemingly unrelated Items causing havoc with other systems.
After a few hours of pulling my hair out trying to diagnose the shifter problem I happened to start the car and notice the shifter solenoid click in and out so fast you could miss it.
I now know the thing works but still doesn't release the shifter. I finally climbed back down into the floor board (no easy task I'm 6'4" 240 pounds) upside down to get a look under the dash.
I had already determined that there was little to do to the brake switch other than to replace it. I noticed the little post sticking out of the brake pedal arm and knew something had to attach.
There is a plastic actuator on the brake pedal switch that attaches to the brake pedal arm. It had came off for some reason. Once reattached I managed to reach up and start the car and when I pushed the brake pedal I heard that wonderful click of the release solenoid releasing.
Was a happy event. It is working as designed once again.
