HELP! My clutch went out.
I have a 2006 corvette. I just had my clutch replaced at 33,000 miles. Now I’m at 48,000 miles and I felt it starting to feel funny again so I brought it in to have it looked at. What do you know they are telling me I need a new clutch again? The first one was barely covered under the factory warranty. The only reason why they covered it was because he said this was happening to a lot of corvettes. At the time he had 3 corvettes in the shop that he was replacing the clutches in.
For this second one I know they will not cover it they want $1,700.00 to replace it. What?
Any ideas??? Why is this happening? I dont drive it hard.

Your dealer having 3 cars in at the same time for clutches is strange indeed! The C6 clutch is almost bullet proof. I doubt anyone can say what your specific problem may be other than installer problem.

Then you have a problem with the clutch actuation hydraulic system (the system that engages and disengages the clutch) not the actual clutch plate which is a wear out item like the brake pads. It could be a failed clutch master cylinder or a failed clutch actuator or a leaking hydraulic system. Any fluid leaking? If the clutch goes to the floor, how can you drive it?
