Anyone used one of those iphone dyno apps, they anywhere near accurate? I'm curious as I just got accepted into the iphone development program and wondering if it needs some competition...or at least a vette themed version

It is fairly accurate (as far as tracking acceleration times by speed or distance) but it can be "tricked" to be inaccurate. I think its horsepower calculations are off but I do not really care - I got it for the acceleration times. The accelerometer graph is useful because you can see if there is wheel spin and in what gears (mine even showed spin on the 3-4 shift even though the wheel spin was not pronounced) so there is a fair amount of sensitivity to the programming. Also, based upon the peaks and valleys on the graph, you can see how quickly you shift. Mine has very small dips when I do not powershift, just really fast shifting. When I did powershift, there were spikes indicating wheel spin. Like anything else, it is a tool and an accurate one at that.
With all that being said, if you can make a better mousetrap, do it.
