What is the battery life on the Bartec 9 Volt with Alkaline? Can you use 9 volt rechargables? Thinking of getting one of these for trackside use and leaving my OTC for home use. The OTC sure seems to suck the juice out quick. (use rechargable C batteries).

All these tools seem to eat batteries pretty fast.
I can't recall how long the batteries last in a Bartec. You can use rechargeables, but alkalines will usually work better.
I know you'll be using a 9 volt for the Trackside, but in a AAA, AA, C, or D cell battery size, NiCads are actually only 1.2 volts. NiMH batteries are also only 1.2 volts, but usually work a little better than the NiCads.
A standard zinc-carbon or alkaline battery is about 1.5 volts, so a rechargeable battery starting with a fresh charge is already less volts than a normal or alkaline battery.
