I've already got a set of rear wheels and drag radials, but am looking to get some skinnier wheels for the front on drag days. Anybody have any preferences they can recommend besides the CCW drag pack wheels?
Those gto spares are getting popular. You could get them for about 80 or less shipped a couple months ago, now they are 100+ shipped. I just need to get a deal on one more and I will be good

GTO spares are fine as long as you are willing to bolt the "wrong" bolt pattern to your 45k car (120 vs. 120.65 mm). Some do it and get away with it... use at your own risk.
remember gto spares will only work on non Z51 cars...i use them on my car with M&H bias ply front runners...i hit a personal best of 10.98 at 130.69 with a 1.73 60' at Ennis on Saturday with these...they work perfect...i had mine balanced and i don't have any wobble...feels fine going down the track at 130mph...also remember you have to grind out the the inside just a bit so the hub will fit in the wheel...the bolt pattern being off that little hasn't messed up my car any...here is a pic of my homemade drag setup...haha...and so you cant see the rust of the wheel hub, i sanded it down a bit, cleaned it with brake cleaner, and spray painted it black for when i drive my setup on the streets...

Dang it i wanted to try these whells but i have Z51 are you sure it wont work has anyone tryed this with z51
i did alot of research before i bought mine and that is what i read....won't work on Z51 cars
here is a response from a thread i started back when i was looking for gto spares...."Yes the center hole/hub area has to be opened up a bit and the bolt pattern is not an exact fit, the C5/C6 is 5x4.75 and the GTO spares are 5x120mm (which is like 5x4.72), but close enough I guess. They will not clear the calipers on Z51/later F55 cars either""They definitely don't clear the Z51/later F55 brakes and they just barely make it on the base cars as well."
if you want you can come to lewisville on wednesday and see if my spares will fit on your car...i have a jack, impact wrench, and torque wrench to do it all

I tried it, it is unfortunately true unless you perform some serious surgery/brake swapping or use 'unsafe sized' spacers/adaptors.

That quote appears oddly familiar to me for some reason.
True. I think it will be fine though since that translates to a whopping 1/40th of an inch...
I guess it all depends on what one considers "close enough"... The difference is .026 of an inch; would you accept one of your cylinder bores to be out of round or oversize by .026"? How about rod cap misalignment by this amount? Aren't the wheels on your car just as critical? The fact is, the bolt circles are not the same on these wheels, and that adds a tremendous amount of side load into the studs just sitting in the driveway. Add to that, the lugs can not seat properly into the wheels because the studs are going to be bent (however slightly). It's like pounding a square peg into a round hole... with a big enough hammer it can be done, but that does not make it "right".
Anyway, I know plenty get away with it, but I hope everyone understands the fact that the misalignment is not a trivial amount from an engineering perspective.
BTW, has anyone run skinny Welds or Centerlines on these cars? I know they clear the brakes on the 05 GTO's, mainly because they are entirely "outside" the hub (offset). These are cheap and lighter than GTO spares (and the right bolt patern).
