Default AC condensor replacement. easy or not?

Well, as it says in the title, I have to replace my condensor. I was installing my Vararam intake and when I was done I could not believe that I did it with no issues, so I took my razor knife and stabbed it.
How would you guys rank the job? PIA, easy, middle of the road? Any tips from anyone that has done it in the past?


I said I would replace it during the winter and here it is Febuary, and it is not done yet. Summer will be here soon!

It should be very easy. Undo the hard lines and slide it vertically up off of the brackets that it rests on. It isn't bad or at least it wasn't hard for me to remove. You will see what I am talking about when you start to remove it

A task like this is pretty easy in any car. You'll need a can/bucket to catch the fluid when you disconnect the line though, and you'll have to fill the lines when finish (this is easy).

What kind of fluid should I expect? I really dont think there is fluid in the condensor, I may be wrong, but I don't think so???

Removing the condensor is just a start.

When it's time to install the new system you need specific A/C tools. You need to vacuum out all the old refrigerant and oil and charge the new system with a specific amount of new refrigerant and oil. Not a job for the backyard mechanic.

I know I will have to go to a shop to fill the system, but I am sorry to say I was not too friendly to the enviroment when the whole system leaked out and created a cloud in my garage. Not my intention as I hope you know.

About .5 hour to R&R plus .5 hours for recharge time.
