The only upgrade you'd need on a stock vehicle is likely the clutch. The APS kit comes with pretty much everything you'd need to make silly amounts of power. (I just got one for my 2009 hardtop) You always have the option of adding things like a better catback exhaust later. Working with a competent shop that can handle the installation and custom PCM tuning will make things go much smoother too.

whats nice about most of the popular tt kits such as APS, STS, TTI, is that they come with pretty much all you need. what supporting mods you need/want depends on how much hp your shooting for.
rule of thumb with any FI, open the air up: headers, exhaust, intake. But no, you do not "need" them.
