I remember driving a friend's 06' Z51-equipped vert and thought the ride was pretty stiff and the car seem to have some bump steer. I didn't like it. I recently drove an 09' z51 coupe, and even in this cold weather, it drove like a dream..way better than my 07' Z06. Is there that much difference between these years other than engine size? I have my eye on a NEW 07' Z51 Vert.

There is NO difference in the Z51 suspension from '06-'09. Perhaps it
was the difference in the roads you drove on? It can feel like a dream on smooth roads and like a bucking bronco on washboard bad roads.
Could be the alignment too. There are some cars that wear out stock GY F1's in less then 10K miles, then there are some like mine that are going on 25K still with thread on them. Part of this is due to poor alignment from factory......the other part is a heavy foot!

And what does this have to do with ride stiffness?
No question that higher air pressures will make the ride firmer. Not so with tire wear or age. That will simply provide less traction as the tire tread hardens.
