Default Adding Torque Cov. and Gears '08 A6

Stainlessworkx LT Headers 1 7'8, 3' tubes, xpipe, out the back into B&B Bullets, ADM Performance LS3 CAM 224\232 114LSA, P&P TB and Intake, UD Pulleys

460rwhp\430tq

What type of gains would I expect getting say 3.56 gears and a 3200 stall.. I do not take it to the track but I run stop light to stop light and run them on the highway "stupid, I know"
Would it seem like a big change, would type of 1\4 would I expect with run flats, justa guesstimate..

I suggest 3.15 gears and a 3200 stall. 3.56 ( not sure if even available) would be a little much. Find someone with 3.42's go for a ride they are nice too, can still cruise at 80 on the hwy at low rpms. Car will pull like mad. I drove Subfloors 10.9xx car and it had great street manners. Total daily driver with a 3600 stall and 3.42 gears.

I'd guess that you would see only .2 with runcraps with the new set-up because you make good power and probably launch at part throttle now and will have traction issues into 2nd gear.

For stoplight racing, you probably get a better return on buying some good rubber first and then go stall & gears.

As Mike mentioned I do have a 3600/3.42 setup in my car and even with only 410/372 to the rear wheels the car pulls unbelievably hard (1.555 60fts anyone?) but the downside to that is I need to be very careful on the street. That's not to say the car is in any way undriveable, but rather that I had to learn to be very respectful of it. I've even managed to break the tires free at 70mph (which I promise you I'll never do again) when I kicked it down hard from 5th gear to 3rd on the freeway one night right after the install.

That combination on your car while making that much power would be a lot of fun but you'd have even less of a margin of error if you start getting on it too much.

If you were to take it to the track with runflats and that combo I can almost guarantee your ETs would be in the range of 15 seconds or slower because even with drag radials I have to hook very well otherwise I just sit and spin.

You will make some awesome times with that set up and good rubber. Im actually going to 3.42's and I already have the 3200 stall. Im looking forward to the added low end.

I see you're also from Texas. I have a 3200 Yank in my car and the tranny now runs extremely hot temps in slow and stop-and-go traffic. Out on the highway it's fine. I've even adapted a large B&M tranny cooler with a fan to go along with the factory tranny cooler. Still runs hot. Just something to think about.

I have a tranny cooler and Ive never seen the tranny temp go above 200 since the install. Stop and go or highway.

My car has a ProCharger and a radical blower cam. I'm sure the increased idle needed for the cam contributes to the heat. But, I've seen tranny temps in excess of 220 at the track and during heavy traffic on a hot day. During normal highway driving, it's anywhere from 185 to 195.

Dennis50NJ, thanks for the advice. I'll try that next before forking out a grand for a Davis radiator.
