Default Tunnel insulation

Not too long after purchasing my '08, I installed Exotic Vette's insulation kit. The improvements were notcieble. I also installed LAPD's 1/4 inch insulated tunnel plate. However, I was still getting heat into the console, albeit, less. So as an experiment, I removed the tunnel plate, took some of the leftover insulation from the kit, cut it to size and glued its to the inside of the tunnel plate and re-installed it. The noise level is lower and I believe the console is cooler. Just thought I's pass this on. Larry

My insulation kit is sitting in the garage waiting for warmer weather. Just wondering if you insulated under the console. I would think this would cool it down. I've read great things about the kit, cant wait to get started ripping the car apart!!!

Yes, I did insulate under the console. It is quite a lot of work to install the kit, but worth it.

I just ordered a 1/4" Tunnel Plate from Elite Engineering and it comes with the insulation Package, I might just add more in the tunnel over the tube.
