Default Need help-emissions question.

I am thinking about buying a new 08. It is an Ohio car with a FE9 emissions code. I live in PA which I am told requires a NE1 code. Can I get this car emissions inspected in PA or do I have to change something? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Most unmodified cars are legal in almost all 50 states. California is the only one that I can think of that is more strict than the others.

I have been getting conflicting information. A PA Chevy dealer said that could not get it inspected but a local inspection station said that it shuold not be a problem. I know that there are some real knowledgable people on this forum that is why I came here for answers. Thank you...

Thats what I thought. They just have different emissions codes for dealer purposes I think. If it passes at your states smog station and they give you a certificate for your registration then your good to go.

Take a picture of the emissions tag, which says 50 state emissions vehicle. If it is like California, you will need to smog it, and then you should be fine. I was told the same thing when I bought mine, they stated it would not be allowed. I gave them a copy of the build sheet, which stated, 50 state emission's vehicle.
We also have something that states, if the vehicle has less than 7500 miles, and it is not a California emmisions vehicle, it can not be brought into the state. If it has over 7,500 miles, you can.
