Default C6 Headers and X-over on ebay

Has anyone tried the inexpensive stainless steel headers listed on ebay recently? I'm referring to the ones listed by "jmoppa05" with the auction title "2005+ Corvette C6 Headers & Crossover X-Pipe". The pictures show a pretty nice looking product, but one of the feedback responders indicated a fitup problem. Even if the problem is real, the price seems pretty tempting. I realize that these are cat-less, but I can deal with that. I'm just looking for a step up from stock without laying out the coin for the others I've seen.

I was amazed when I saw them too but then when I thought about it, I would spend as much as I needed to keep the money in our country. I am trying to support our American companies even when I have to pay more, actually, I'm happy to.

Do a search, as a few here have them. There was a long thread several weeks ago with pictures and plenty of opinions.

I got them and construction and welds all look great.

I'll be putting them on this weekend and will post up about it.

450 shipped for headers and offroad X is worth the risk over 1200-1500 + shipping

Can't speak directly to those headers, but in my experience, most ebay headers are junk. They almost never properly backpurge as they weld, which almost always leads to cracking down the road.

I'm not a big fan of doing things twice, so I'd go with a quality header the first time.

Will do.

I picked up some 02 extensions from ICON last week; will try to get them on this week and retune it and then probably head up to ICON to get a dyno with them.

Stainless is going to get hot as blazes! You may want to consider Jethot coating them prior to install.

I have the American Racing Headers, and my pictures of those headers don't match the photos in the eBay listing. So if someone is implying that these are ARHs I would make sure you do your due diligence. Compared the ARHs I bought, the O2 bungs are on the wrong place and the routing of the primaries are different.

That may be true.
But now try and compare the appearance of the ebay headers to a set of Kooks, you might find far more similarities there, and I'm sure that most will that there's certainly nothing wrong with the Kooks header design.
I didn't think that anyone was actually trying to argue that these things are ARH headers (or even Kooks for that matter) in the first place, maybe just a less costly alternative.

Like he said, these are not ARH headers and are not even close in appearance.

They are VERY similar to kooks headers though.

I asked the seller what replicas they were. He said they are Kooks. If anyone is curious.

FloydSummerOf68 please keep us informed of these; especially of the ease/difficulty of installation. I'm very interested in possibly getting these.

Yeah, ebay headers are crap. But, it's easily remedied. For example, I got a 4-1 headers for my 94 integra on ebay. It broke after I bottomed out, at the merge collector. The weld was weak. But, I drove it to the nearest muffler shop and $20 later, it was re-welded and has lasted for 3 years now.

I will post up as soon as I get them on about the ease of installation and quality of fit.

I have this friday off of work so there is no reason I shouldn't get them on in a few hours barring any major hangup.

Will be interesting to see how they fit. Be sure they don't touch the transmission fluid line if yours is an automatic. Kooks supplies a small metal clamp to hold the lines away.

Are you installing Kooks cats with them or going the offroad route? Will need to turn off the rear 02 sensors without cats.

I would be interested in buying your factory X pipe if you want to sell it. I'm in Sugar Land so could come by and pick it up.

Look in the collectors and see if there is much weld build up. This can cause turburlence if not ground out. I have ground out all my collector headers.

I actually have an 07 and it has an h-pipe, but I DO also have an 08 x-pipe lying around conveniently enough, lol.

I also have a full Z06 manifold, cat, 3" h-pipe setup also if you're interested in that :P\\

Yes I'm staying with no cats and I tune my cars via hp-tuners.

Also, I have done plenty of work on cars, so I'll notice if lines are hanging on the headers or touching
