Default Electric waterpump

Was wonder if anyone was using a electric waterpump. If so, how do you have it wired....or where do you have it wired. I have had one installed, in my 05, for several years now. My check engine light stays on most of the time. Always believed it was because of the wiring of the pump into my fusebox. Pretty sure it was wired into the fuel injector fuse. Last night, I took the car out for a drive and noticed the water temp rising quickly(meaning my H2O pump wasn`t working). Turned around and put her back in the garage until this morning when I had more time to tinker. Hooked a wire directly to the battery and temp started dropping right away( my engine light also went out). So I know my pump is working. I just need a better place to wire it to.

I am actually installing one today on my '07. I bought this harness from ZIP. I assume you are using a Meziere.

http://www.zip-products.com/Zip/prod...C7ECEB8A7E826B

I received the harness yesterday and looks easy. Plug and play like they advertised compared to what Meziere sent in the pump box. Another forum member emailed me and told me the Meziere wiring was a joke and that the ZIP was the only way to go.

Other good thing about this harness is if the pump stops working it will shut your fuel off so your engine doesn't overheat.

Is the juice worth the squeeze on this deal? When you add up the pump and the harness, you have spend $700.00.

Actually more. They dont give you the right stat, you gotta get thread sealer, gasket sealer etc. I called Meziere and asked them how to hook up their relay they didnt know? That baffled me. How do you make a part for your water pump and not know how to install it?? I dont think its worth the money. You still have to use the stock belt and goes around the water pump anyway??? Whats the point???
700.00 + if you do if yourself! 1000$ plus if someone else does it
How much do you actually gain???? There are better ways to go fast
for $1000.00

I did this pump install myself a few months back without the above metioned harness and it was a noticeable power difference for me. The car revved much quicker and temps were a good 10-15 lower than prior in same weather and driving situations.

I did however remove the pump when it left me stranded at Wal-Mart. The pump suddenly started popping fuses instantly. The problem ended up being a wire short within the pump housing itself that could only be repaired by Meziere.

Because of my own personal frustrations I went back to the stock pump, lost a few horsepower, BUT i dont have to worry about being stranded due to a water pump failure.

But 10days ago I got stranded b/c of a timing chain break. The price for making hp and going fast- gotta love it!

Do you still have the "broken" water pump?
