which cam and why vrx3 or g5x1?
I just want some opinions and input on which cam to slide into my 2006 c6 z51 m6, my current mods:callaway honker, ARH and corsa sport mufflers. I want power across the whole rpm range, don't want a peeky cam. I like the low end grunt I have now, just a street machine not a racer, some light to light could happen. but I also want some lope. At the same time I plan to install an underdrive pully. The vrx3 cam specs are: 226/228 .585/.588 114 LSA and the g5x1 specs: 228/232 .588/.574 112 or 114. and if some one has a similar set up, could you post a dyno sheet? thank you in advance for your help.

Personally, I would go with LG Motorsports. If you visit their website they have many dyno sheets posted there. I'm sure you will find what you are looking for.
Otherwise, call them and ask for Anthony or Louis. They can tell you exactly what you need based on your requirements.
Good luck

I did call Anthony and he was very helpful. I have also talked with the guys at Vengeance, they are also great to talk to. I talked to TJ Wong and he likes the g5x1 specs and pointed me toward that one. I wanted to get some perspective from owner's with these cams installed. I appreciate everyone's help. Thank you.

The op doesnt have stock exhuast.
The gx cam is slightly larger so you will have a little more peak with that one probably around 1800-4500 rpm range the other will be a little lower. The lift is almost the same but if you dont want to much lope in your idle stick with 114 cause 112 will be pretty choppy.

dyno sheets do not mean anything "not to me anyway, time slips do!", get your car dyno'd 3 different places and you will get 3 way different results. I would go with someone local that knows what they are doing. Search for a vendor on your left hand side, someone will work with you close.

There was a guy who owned a Silver C5 Z with matching painted wheels and lived in Texas. I forget his name but he ran the G5X1. It made great power down low and RWHP was 450+.
I believe Louis had mentioned that this was one of his favorite cams in a cam discussion so time ago!.

Have you had a chance to listen to both? That may be a factor?

Consider an off the shelf Comp grind using the XFI ramps - they will probably have 2-5 degrees more duration @.200 and same at .050 as above.
Now, as a comparison, we ran a test against the ubiquitous 224/228 114 +1 (XER lobes) cam vs a 224/230 114+1 (XFI lobes) and gained nearly 12 RWT and 14 RWHP with most of that being a consistent gain throughout the curve.
Food for thought.....

Believe XER on intake and XE on exhaust.
I ran a 224/228 581/588 XER lobes on a 114. It had a lope. 224/228 intake duration seems to be a real sweetspot for LS1/LS2 and I don't think there is much to be had by pushing lift over .600 on your stock heads.
If Louis and Tom Wong said G5X1, I wouldn't hesitate. Go to a 112 if you want more lope!

Thank you everyone for all the helpful input. I am going to go for the g5x1 with the 112 lsa. I watched the two you tube videos and listened to the idle on the g5x1 and that is what I am looking for sound wise. I also went to the LGM website and looked at all the dyno sheets they have posted and this cam looks like a good all around cam.
