I did, in an 08 Vert A6. I should be firing it off sometime next week. I paid 6499.00 from Bill Heard and paid my mechanic friend about 1500.00 for some severe assistance. I'll be posting pics of the aftermath later next week.

Why would you buy a LS3 crate engine for a 08-09 Vette the only change between the LS3 in the 08/09 Vette and the crate engine is it has the GM Hot Cam I could see maybe doing that for a 05-07 that has a LS2.

Thanks, I just would have went and bought the cam but maybe he needed a new engine and if thats the case I think they offer a 515hp version it has the ASA cam in it but it may be carbureted but I bet it can be switched to EFI.

Needed an engine. The price difference was not that much to go to the 480. The jump up to the 515 was way much more.

But for the 08/09 guys they could just get the Hot Cam kit no need to get the whole crate engine. But like I said for you since you have a LS2 it might be worth it, I used to have a 06 GTO and if I didn't buy the Vette I was going to put the L76/L92 combo on my GTO its the same heads/intake as the LS3 if your a M6 you can get that kind of power there is a guy with it on his 06 GTO putting down 476 to the rear wheels and the heads/intake are real cheap like 1500-1800 and thats complete heads and intake to include injectors and throttlebody.

its a waste of freaking money. I put headers, intake and tune and have about 475 hp with 410rwhp to my car which only cost me about 1800 installed.

If you put the L76/L92 intake and head combo with the right cam on your LS2 you can make 475+RWHP its a proven combo thats still cheaper and less hassle than the crate engine swap. And if your looking at spending that kind of money for a crate engine why not go forced induction?

Can't wait to see it.

Would you appreciate someone telling you you wasted 8k? Probably not.
Speaking of why's, why don't you go back to the GTO forums instead of putting your feet up on the table of our forums, and insulting some well respected members and all around nice guys....

Not sure how to take this. If you read all the post then you would have read that I needed an engine anyway. The OP has an 07 and looking into an engine.
I personally don't like headers or intakes and just barely considering a tune. Should I dis those of you that do?

Thanks for the info. So the ASA cam is only worth 10hp over the Hot Cam I thought it would be more than that.
