Default Lifter Inspection/Reinstall

While my heads are out for work I'm going to bug everyone for info regarding the lifters...

I have them out and visually everything looks good. Is there anything I need to look out for here? Can a machine shop "test" them easily while I have them out?

When I reinstall them I'm planning on putting them back in guides they came out of. Do I need to soak them in oil or anything?

I went on and replaced my lifters just to be safe. For $120 for a set of 16, it was worth it IMO.

Buy new LS7 lifters and make sure that they fit snug into the lifter trays - buy new trays if you have doubt.

Anyone have the part number handy for the lifters? Is it 12499225?

1.8t did you go with the LS7 lifters and were you able to stick with your 7.400 length pushrods?

LS7 lifters are all the same for the LS2, 3, and 7. Since the lifter is identical, pushrod length with not change due to the lifter. Make sure you soak them in oil for 24hrs prior to install.

^ Wow, I just realized they have gone up in price some. Check out Scoggin Dickey and other vendors as well.
