i am buying a set of wheels for my 06. the guy i am buying them from is taking the tire sensors... the tires are new. they are the vette racing wheels 5 spoke with the rivets... for now if i want to use them. can i put them on without the sensors? the tires are the supercar F1s emt. i have them on my Z06 repros right now and do not want to take them out and put them on the new set.if i do put them on will there be any buzzers going off all the time? i dont think ill mind the dash light.. but after the initial cost of the wheels and tires ill be little short on xtra cash for the sensors...

Take a look at this thread over in the "General" section of the forum:
You really should have sensors in runflat tires because otherwise they can lose pressure and you'll never know it while going straight down the highway - you just don't get the handling feedback you get when a regular soft sidewall tire goes flat. Butt....you'll find out when you take the off-ramp or next corner at normal speed and lose control when a sideload builds up.
You say these are racing wheels - does that mean you'll be running on the track with them?
If you aren't running sensors you may have trouble going into Comp mode or turning AH completely off. Some owners have problems and some don't, so YMMV.
I installed new R compound tires with out sensors on stock rims. What a mistake. After a little while, maybe an hour, the car will de fuel, limit you to under 80 mph, turn on traction control and active handeling if you are getting on it. If you are just driving it around, you will not feel anything diferent, but if you push it.... you will be sorely disappointed. I bought a new set of sensors for this second set of track tires and imediately solved the computer constipation problem. Got to have them.
