Well, I got home from work yesterday to find a big box on my doorstep. I sent my TB and stock intake out for porting. My TB had previously been ported but it went just to be checked and my new porter felt it could use some help.
Anyway, both parts looked excellent on visual inspection. After cutting a few knuckles (I don't care what everyone says, I think R&R of the intake is a PIA) and maybe an hour of work it fired right up and idled smooth as silk. I took it out for a drive and was very impressed with how it felt. I had an absolute SOP feeling of improvement. Most notably was the throttle response. It seemed I merely tapped the throttle in 3rd and I had instant acceleration. Very nice. The car is going in for a re-tune next Wednesday so I am anxious to see how it responds to that. I won't have a fair comparison because I am using a new tuner and new dyno but Oh Well! I'm excited about that as well.
I really recommend this mod to anyone interested in adding those fine points to an overall plan. Remember age old hot rodding principles still apply to our modern technology motors .... air in and air out. Why add a CAI and headers without paying attention to the TB and Intake manifold. It has really helped mine.
Sounds great! I just installed a ported T.B. from VMax and really felt the difference in response. Let us know the results from your new tuner. Who are you using?

Charlie. Porting your stock intake will make a difference! My TB had previously been done and the SOP of adding the intake are noticeable. Sned me a PM.
