Default clutch problems

Are the C6s having any clutch/slave cylinder issues? A friend of mine has a 08 with 7000 miles and his clutch petal just went to the floor (He was in a parade )
I didn't know if there were some reoccuring issues with them, or he just had some bad luck
(I havn't seen the car, he just called and told me he had to have it towed)

I believe EVERYONE'S having these issue and GM is ignoring it. Spoke to a tech at a local dealer last week and he claimed that no one's complaining. I asked if he ever comes on here and he said "all the time".

There are hundreds of C6's having this issue. Most are just replacing the clutch fluid on a regular basis as a fix. This is complete bull**** IMHO.

Search for Ranger's clutch fluid video on YouTube.

The clutch requires frequent fluid changes as the slave is located in the Bell housing and has a very hard life.. There are several documented threads that explain the procedure to easily replace the fluid... This helps in most cases..

Yea; I don't think "old fluid" is the issue in this case, since the car has only 7000 miles on it

It's disappointing to me, because this is the first Vette he has every owned I've been telling him how much better they are been built now days, and then this happens

Believe it or not, if he's NOT changed it yet...it is ancient old! I have 4200 miles on mine and have changed flushed it 4 times. Like C6-missile said, the slave is the issue with it's location. It gets so hot it boils the fluid and get dirty from disk dust, hence causing the pedal to not "come back" as it should.

GM needs to fix this shait!

My 07 C6 has 6500 miles on it and the other day I was getting on it a little and my clutch peddle stuck mid way. I depressed it and waited a couple of seconds and then took off again. It scared the **** out of me, I thought I broke something. Do you think not changing the oil had something to do with this?
