Radar Detector help
Any suggestions on which radar detector is the best ?
I am considering to purchase one that is between 3 different units. Price range is from $400 to $500 I believe the following are makeup:
1) Valentine One, has two antennas / one faces forward the the second antenna faces the rear.
2) Beltronics STI Driver, has two antenns however both face forward
3) Escort Passport 9500 IX has only one antenna (facing forward).
I appreciate any feed back you can provide.

I'm using Valentine 1. Very powerful,great features,update able(no planned obsolescence),good website,replacement parts... I consider it money well spent.

I have a V1 and a Escort 8500 (no GPS).
The escorts have an auto mute which is nice in the city. I use it in my DD car.
The V1 is in the vette. I really only drive it on the hiway or out to the back roads. I find the arrows to be a huge advantage for this type of driving.
They are all useful tools.

I have no experience with anything but Escort. Just bought the 9500Ix and its great. Picks up radar activity (front and back) from what seems to be ~ 1/4 mile. It also stores (via GPS) false alarm locations.
