I have read several posts about the 05 diff being weak. Pretty much every one I have read about was with a m6. Does anyone know if the A4 diff is any less prone to break than the m6? My thought process is usualy they break from flexing. I am wondering if the a4 migh not flex as much as the diff with a m6.
It usually with the m6. I have the a4 and I beat the hell out of it. Ive taken the car to the drags and auto-x and no problems. I think the diffs breaking are limited to the manuals doing clutch dumps on em.
Yeah I dont think its stronger it just doenst break due to the delievery of power. I dont think there are too many auto guys that have broken their diff unless they are making some serious power. I have about 450 rwhp and dont have any problems.

I have about the same with a 3:15 and about 400 RWTQ and no problems either.
I don't think there is a difference, I have gone through at least 3 rears and trans due to the cases cracking. I even put in a C5 rear in my C6. I do have to mention that most of my issues I blame on shooting nitrous off the line. Too much torque or shock to the drivetrain. I have since put a cam in it and am running NA for now. If I do spray in the future it will have at least a smaller shot and be delayed.
