Very interesting though!
When Livernois did my Stage 2 h/c package they did not mention if there was a core exchange available, unless I misunerstood, because I did ask for all my origional parts back. I think I read somewhere that there is a $300.00 core allowance. Call them and ask for Matt Reese, if available, and I'm sure they will fill you in. They are a fine shop and are great people to deal with.

Livernois does use NEW 243 castings from GM for its CNC ported heads, so if they do take your cores back, it is as a favor. They probably wholesale them on down the food chain . . . .

Thanks for the reply, as I wasn't sure. First mistake I ever made. LOL

I will tell you I am pretty impressed with the AFR 205 against these larger heads. Also if you notice in the article it is clear AFR pulled a CNC head straight from the assembly line vs. TFS who provided what I percieved to be a "massaged" 215 head. Anyone else get that feeling from the intro of this article?

Now if you take a Tony Mamo special AFR 205 and put it up against the TFS head what do you think might happen? I have a feeling I know.

My shop highly recommends worked over stock heads. They've seen great results with them. I think it's around $1200.

The Livernois 243 heads definately held there own and for savings in price you could almost add a FAST intake on there.

Hey Rick,
How do you think your heads will fair with your 404 stroker shortblock?

Which stage heads? With a 404 we typically run a Stage 3R LS-Series head or CNC L92 Head.
