So I have a BBP CAI and I recently discovered a plastic grocery bag securely and completing surrounding the conal fliter element. I have no idea how the car was even running. It was like breathing through a straw. It was filthy and I suspect it had been on there for some time as I had been disappointed in the car's performance lately. I would think this is a fairly common occurance for cars with any air intake that is in front of the shroud.
Has anyone ever fabbed up a screen to keep stuff from getting all the way up in there or does someone already sell something? I would think a piece of screen, similar to the mesh used to cover the front grill or side vents, could be used and attached with velcro or snaps or something. It would totally invisible unless you were under the car. It would obviously need to be removable to service the filter.
Any thoughts?

That's what I'm thinking. Should be pretty easy to fab myself though. But that's exactly what I thought.
I have not seen it much on the C6 forum, but do a search in the C5 forum.. Lots of guys were making their own..The C5 was a real road vacuum..I think I pulled every leaf and pine needle off the road, my radiator would be full of junk after a weekend...
