Default skip shift eliminator

Hello to all of you Vette enthusiasts. I'm new to this forum having just taken delivery of my 2009 coupe three days ago. I was wondering if any of you had installed a skip shift eliminator and what your views were on these devices. I do understand the reason for the skip shift and consider it an annoyance more than a problem.

The skip shift eliminators work well, or you can use a 2.2k resistor across the connector at the solenoid on the trans. Also the skip shift can be programmed out with a predator or hp tuners. Most of us manual guys don't like the skip shift function and promptly disable it.

I disabled the CAGS with HP Tuners and no needs for the resistor.

Don't ask me how, my transmission shift into 2nd smoother (at low or high RPM) once I disabled it.

I just used the "blow up" the COGS fuse technique, it works great as far as I can tell.

First mod I did - Radio Shack resistor across the plug... Disables "Big Brother" for less than a dollar. Come to think of it, it was at about three days of ownership that I did it too.

I’ve had my C6 for a year and have triggered the skip shift maybe twice, so to me it’s not an issue. If I were to disable it I’d use the Leres blown LED fuse method: http://xse.com/leres/z06/cags.html .

Does eliminating the skip shift raise a warranty issue?

Actually the dealer recommended I install it when I bought the car. I did so the first week. Very annoying feature.

I bought the part that they sell above at the Corvette store. It installs back on the trans.
I didn't know about the fuse option, that's a lot ez'er that jacking up the car and getting to the solenoid. Drove me nuts driving the car with that 1-4 shift only. Fisrt mod. I did.

Someone is selling the fuse on eBay.

But personally, I would get someone to improve the factor tune. In HP Tuners you can easily to disable the CAGS along with a few minor tweaks such are more aggressive timing at cruise, lean out the PE, and less timing pulled out when intake temp increases.

If you just pull the fuse I think it will eventually throw a code. At least I believe that is correct.

Exactly...Buy the Smart Fuse, blow it, and replace the stock fuse. Very simple and it works perfect.

Installed the blown Smart Glow Fuse (10a) and it works great. No codes, no skip shift.

I want to thank all who have answered. The reason that I'm late is that I have had some computer issues for the last day or two which were caused by me, not bill Gates. I do not have any shifting issues, however, since eliminating the Skip-shift on my Vette.
Please don't misunderstand. I am not doing any burnouts or power-shifting. I don't intend to, either. I have had enough of blowing engines, transmissions, clutches, and rear ends to last me a lifetime. I'm talking about '55 Chevy, "57 Chevy, '61 Pontiac Ventura, "64 ChevyII, and probably a few others that I'm not remembering right now.
I've been driving vehicles with manual transes since I was nine years old and still enjoy it.
I did notice a yellow Vette pictured next to one of the replies and for a second I was trying to figure out how the 'forum" got a picture of my car.
Hope to talk to you all soon and thanks again,
