My luck with AC Delco has been bad. Mine died suddenly after 3 years, which I hear is not uncommon. I could not bring myself to pay $200+ for an Optima.
I bought an Interstate battery for about $110 and its a perfect fit. I peeled the OEM AC Delco labels off the dead battery and glued them over the ugly Interstate labels so it looks stock.

I put an Optima red top in my '05 last year, when I knew it was 3 yrs old and began to see some voltage drops. The alternator was fine. So I played it safe. I think I only paid about $145 for it at Auto Zone and there was a $25 rebate at the time.
