Convertible failsafe switch install
every so often I go to put my power top up or down and the trunk divider button acts up and I have to snap the divider off and on to get the button to depress. I have tried adding an additional felt pad to the button to help it stay in, that helped but didn't solve the problem.
Today I went to put my top up and it got halfway up and stopped saying the divider wasn't on. With the top hatch opened I could only get the trunk open about 3" and was very carefull not to scratch it against the bottom edge of the top hatch.. It was tough but I was able to hold the button while my freind held the top up switch down. If I was by myself I would have been screwed. So I decided to install a 2 wire toggle switch to the pin switch wires for the divider. This way if it ever does it again I can just flip the switch and override the divider pin to get the top up or down. I just tucked the switch under the cubby carpet behind the seat. It only took me 5 minutes to install, if anyone needs help with how to do this LMK.
