Is he trying to fix his traction problems at the track or on the street? If you are talking about for the street he isnt going to get much more traction out of the DR's unless he heats them up which I dont think he will be doing on the street.

That's not true - DR's hook like crazy even when not heated. I tend to run them all the time now, street and track, because I LOVE the traction.

Siffert the M/T 275/40/17's are really short. The website says they are 26 or something like that...don't believe it. I measured mine on my car a couple of times and they are less than 25". And yes that gives you a nice gearing advantage!

OP here's another thread. Spinmonster has now gone on to run DR's all the time also. See his link from this thread.

On my camaro, I kept nittos DRs on it at 26 - 28 lb and it hooked much better than regular tires as long as it was 50 degrees or warmer air temp. At 24 lbs they were really good but they felt too sloppy handling wise. Sounds the RIIs solve that issue.

he never goes to the track, he is looking for max grip on the street. I think nothing short of a mickey thompson dr will hold his power. he wont be launching it on the street, mostly 45mph pulls.

my z makes 540/495 and I use mt's (305/35-18) and they dead hook on the street without heating them up (from a 40mph roll). I never launch my z anywhere but the track, but it would spin with dr's on the street without heating them up. I can lower my psi to 17 and turn traction control off and dead hook from a 45mph roll.

yes, just want to make sure there wont be any rubbing issues. so a front set of c6 wheels widened to 10.5 sounds like the answer.

You got me thinking. I just went out and measured my BFG's with just a bit of tread left and measured 24.875. So yours new are about 24.75 and the BFG's new are around 25". BFG claims 25.7 on the site too. Why do they do this?

My BFG's on the street dead hook from a dig without heating even in 35* temps on any street surface. My all season Eagle F1 runflats will only do that on new smooth asphalt. Then again, I'm only running about 380 rwhp.
