I didnt use any and glad I did not. Had to remove my SpinFast soon after I found out I had a vacuum leak from improper use of goop to glue the rear mod.
I used Blue Threadlocker (Permatex Threadlocker). The size of the Fastener and intended use will dictate the type of Threadlocker to use. For example, Blue Threadlocker is medium strength for fasteners (1/4' to 3/4') - (6mm to 20mm) with a max temp of 300 degrees F. See the back of the Threadlocker package for the recommended Threadlocker for your intended use. When removing the stock intake manifold bolts I noticed that the factoy used what looked like blue threadlocker. Regardless, you probably don't need any threadlocker for this project but if you want to go by the book you will want to review the threadlocker chart and pick the threadlocker that will meet your intended use.
Quick question. Do I have to use thread lock on the bolts? Which thread lock to use? Thanks!
I used blue. Helms manual calls for it and if you inspect the bolts, they have thread locker on them from the factory. As a side note: be sure to run the bolts over your wire wheel to get all the old locker residue off. Remember, you'll be torquing these down and if you have crap on the threads it can interfere with the proper torque values, especially with the low torque of these bolts.
