Spring stop/lowering bolt suggestions?

Spring stop/lowering bolt suggestions?
I needed to replace my OEM front spring stops (adjustable lowering bolts) due to the rubber wear material being worn down almost to the metal. Turns out they are not available as a replacement part, you have to purchase the entire front or rear spring which comes with new stops (THANK YOU GM! 
).
I even checked with Gene Culley : "You would have to order a complete spring in order to obtain what you're looking for.....Thanks, Gene".
That was over the weekend so I had no choice but to re-installed the worn out stops or pick up a set of lowering bolts from Corvettes of Houston just to get my car back on the road, so that's what I did.
I've read some having issues with these aftermarket lowering bolts having a short life span or wearing down to the metal if not properly maintained by using some grease between the rubber pad & lower control arm contact point. Are there any other recommendations?
