My take on all this is that there are significant variations in clutch feel and engagement C6 to C6. For whatever reason I don't know. But what may feel right or work for one car may not for another.

The C5 spring is smaller, weaker, and gives a little more pedal pressure than the C6 spring.

I don't know what the differance is in the C5 and the C6 spring but can say that if they were made out of the right type of material they would work right and last forever, its just like the pins that keep the rear view mirrow in place and because the material is not the right alloy they bend and the mirrow will viberate but replaceing them with the right material and no problem, just my .02. I decided to replace my spring when I replaced my clutch master. It feels just fine to me.

small = 97-03
large = 04 (part# is in the pic)

Is this the C5 part number?

1037-6347 is the big spring, '04 and up.
1255-5205 is the small spring, '97 - '03.

While both are technically C5 parts, the small one is commonly know as the "C5 spring" and the big one as the "C6 spring"

Just put a small "C5" spring in my '09 tonight. First impression is that the pedal effort is about the same, but the over center action is less pronounced. I think I'll like it, time and miles will tell.

This is true! My Zo6 pedal is lighter little different feel than the C-6.
