i am looking for exaust for my 2005 c6 z51 ...cant decide because i want a nice deep sound but we take it on trips and i dont want alot of drone/interior noise....still want to enjoy the ride when just cruisin....any suggestions? jeremyknapp@bellsouth.net...thanks!
I LOVE my Borlas, I mean Love! '05 Mn6 Z51, Borla Stingers axel-back. Fairly loud, not quite obnoxious, deep rumble, good american muscle sound, yet cruise under moderate throttle or on hwy...they are very quiet...just purr. Comfortable to have a convo in the car on the Hwy...no issues.
Where are you at, near SLC?
Recommend auditioning many diff setups before you buy.

I had the Flowmaster American Thunder 17427 installed on my 05. I LOVE IT. From what it seems you want the deep sound but not too much drone for trips. Believe me Flowmaster is it and I get complimented on the sound all the time. I actually had it installed in OREM, UT by Rick and the shop is called Rick's Muffler. The guy is excellent. I can give you his info if interested.
For the crusin issue you gotta get the Z06s with the butterflies that are quiet at cruise and at WOT they are as loud at the Z06s can be..
either that or the NPPs
or the B&B fuzzions.

All three have butterfly valves
I have the Fusions on my 07 A6. The drone will run you out of the car between 1400 and 1800 RPMs. NPP is the way to go. I'm switching.

This is a great example of how variable exhaust drone experiences are. I was thinking of getting Fusions for the sole reason that they're supposed to avoid drone with the flaps closed...but changed my mind when someone said they'd had bad experiences with B&B quality. I've now ordered Stingers based on favourable comments (including no drone) from a fellow Vette owner - I have an A6 but always use paddles so even worst case I can shift around it.
I've also seem some people comment that they get drone in a coupe which they think may be due to the open luggage area, so hoping that my vert will be better with the closed trunk. Anybody got any experience of this?

If I had to do it all over again, the Z06 from the manifold to mufflers would be my choice....plus more horsepower.

B&B Fusions works for me. I installed my exhaust two weeks ago and the only thing I am receiving is compliments. They sound good and I can choose to go from mild to wild anytime. Don't forget to purchase the NPP Retrofit. It works..!
