Default Question for those using Amsoil Gear Lube

My 08 has started to show the symptoms covered in the current TBS ( chatter/binding creaking) I would like to change the fluid myself using Amsoil vs having the dealer touch my car. For those of you using Amsoil Severe fluid did you add friction modifier? I know the GM fluid being used in TSB does not require a friction modifier. Has anyone gone this route not using the GM fluid and If so did Amsoil solve the issues?

TIA SS

have the dealership do it so it's on record as being done so when you take it back again you can get new clutch packs cuz most of the time all the fluid change does is hide the noise. with out the noise you would never realize there is a problem except when your going 140MPH and your rear end feels like it's going side to side.

Yes I did. Over a year ago, before they changed TSBs. No noise in mine so far.

It's not that GM Doesn't require a friction modifier it's already added to the new LS fluid.

No need to take it to the dealer. Amsoil and one bottle of their Slip-Lock friction modifier will do the trick. And no, it is not just hiding a problem. Mine started to chatter after a little over a year of ownership. I replaced the oil with Amsoil and now almost two years later, still no chatter!!! Do it, you won't be sorry. See the link below for how it has worked for others as well.

This was the only lube that made my noise go away for good. None of GMs fixs worked for me.
