I am looking to purchase an intake for my 2006 C6 before taking the car for a tune. I have two systems on mind. The Hurracaine or the Vararan. I want esay to install with few or no modifications; good HP; reusable filter and the best feature price.
I will like to hear from the members that have some experience with both systems. The idea is to collect enough information before making a decision. I think both systems are good but I want to pick the best.

I have a Huricaine and I think it,s great, no problems. I don't think you will notice a big HP gain with either system. I just like the carbon fiber look it gave the engine compartment!

The vararam will not give you dyno gains, as it is a ram air intake...once your going over 40mph you will notice a nice gain.

With "JUST" a Vararam & a tune by Cartek, my 1/4 miles times went from 12.57 @ 110 mph to 12.08 @ 115 mph..!!
Not bad for an intake & tune.. however you DO have to cut the shroud or install the one they supply with the kit..
For us it was easier to cut the old shroud (quicker) we used a sawzall... with no problem.. it took me & a VERY experienced mechanic 1/2 hr to install the Vararam.. "THEN it went on the Dyno after a tune..
I don't have dyno # BEFORE the work but after the tune and intake it made 397 RWHP (05 LS2 motor)
I drag race, and can compare time slips.. and in the first 60' only a slight improvement (I attribute this to the "TUNE) my incremental times showed big improvement from 330 to 660 and from 660 to 1000 and from 1000' to finish line.. where the RAM AIR was able to work better...
