Anybody ever tried to run the A4 automatic in a 06-up? Is it as simple as a reflash of the computer? The mechanical aspect is already taken care of. Any help would be appreciated.
Ok. I have a theft recovery car I'm trying to reassemble with parts from a few salvage cars we have. I have an 07 engine and ECM with an 05 A4 auto trans. Can this ECM be integrated with the 05 trans module and running gear? Should be a reflash issue correct? Car is already assembled and I'm trying to make sure this is possible before I load it up to take it to be reflashed. Hope this clarifies what I'm asking.

I don't think a re-flash will work as the parameters will be dictated by the VIN and Module itself and the dealer is only going to put the stock 07 ECM program in the car which always has control over the ECM.
Now a tuner with HP TUNES or EFI Live may be able to go in and re-program the TCM (or tune out) some of the A6 parameters making the A4 respond accordingly. I just got HP Tuners yesterday and notice an area where trans mods can be performed. I am totally green though with the program so I cannot elaborate any further on it.
Go over to C5 section "Scan and Tune" There are a lot of tuners hanging out there. I have received a world of information from there already.
