Default Looking for MILD CAM for LS3 Engine.....

Hey guys/girls, what would you all recommend for a MILD Cam (I don't mind a little bit rougher idle, but don't want anything drastic)...My car is an 08 A6 C6 LS3 car and it is a daily driver with the only mods being B&B Fusions, Killer Bee intake, Predator Programmer, (and long tube headers in the very near future). I may be going with a 3200-3600 stall converter down the road.

would check out LPE GT11 or Thunder Racing CHEATR...both have durations less than 220 intake and LSA> 117 which should work for an A6 without 1rst gear surging if tuned well.

Cartek has ben getting really good numbers. Spin has some good LS3 cam recommendations, maybe he or Cartek will chime in.

I run a Vengeance LS3 cam (on my H/C/FAST LS2) with a very minor adjustment for N20, which I have yet to even install.

I also run an A6 and here are the specs.

224/235/610/620/115

The car idles with a small lope and has power everywhere but most importantly, it has street manners very near stock. No pushing through the brakes and honestly, I could have gone a bit bigger, IMHO.

Here is an idle clip

We have a few options for you, please give me a call or PM me. I have a cam that will make great torque and drive like stock and make a nice rumble

Our cam kit is $689 shipped and it comes with new the cam, new seals, new Ti retainers, new keepers, new locks and dual springs.

Thanks,
Carlos

Very nice medium lope! How much in sotp low end did it make? I am on the fence on my '08 ls3 a6 for a cam swap. I would really like to have 30-40 more rwhp. I figure adding a fast intake and a cam like yours I should gain at least that much right?

The cam gave me power everywhere but major above 3500, actually I can't even give it more than 50% throttle on the street under 30mph without lighting the tires. A decent cam only in your LS3 (mine is an LS2) will easily give you 35+rwhp. Just a good set of valve springs and tune and your good to go. Since the LS3 FAST is not out yet, just grab a ported stocker for a few more. I see no problem gaining 50 rwhp with the cam/ported LS3 intake/TB/tune.

That's a pretty mild goal. A 224/228 114 +2 should be able to get you that and not be difficult to tune.

LG has their "Executive Cam" which would probably do the trick too.

I'd recommend a 222/232 116 (with an overlap -5)

You might wait for some test results coming in GM High Tech Performance magazine. I guess they dyno tested 11 cams in an LS3, should be interesting.

I have the 224/228 LSA 114 cam.... exactly 30 hp on the dyno. Sorry, I have a LS2 with the L92/L76 MN6.

No surging on my Vengeance cam, at all, in any gear.

I could have gone a little larger too, even on the stock converter, FYI
