Default C6 Exhaust Replacement

I am replacing my stock exhaust with a Z06 from the manifolds through the h-Pipe. Who makes a replacement Muffler for behind the rear end in stainless that will not produce the dreaded drone.

If drone is a possibility then I would just like to replace with OEM equipment but in high quality

Does anyone have any experience.

Thanks

I had GHLs on my cammed set up. small amount of drone. they specially made up a set of baffled over the axle pipes....

Too loud for me on the 402 forged w SC

I am going with the Z06 mufflers with the butterflies

I'm ready to do do the same thing to my 06.

I recently heard an LS3 with the full Z06 manifiold to mufflers setup, it sounded good but I think its a still a little too tame for me, and it must have also been too tame for the Z06 owner who got rid of it too.

I think the Drone or not question is hard to answer because everyones hearing is so different. I have Flowmasters now and I think they sound ok but wish they were just be a bit more aggressive, I don't think they drone, but others do. For me its too bad Flowmaster doesn't make a Z06 setup, because I'd hate to spend more than $500 for a catback (new or used).

I've read posts where claims were made that by using sound deadening insulation in the rear hatch area drone was reduced or eliminated. Maybe someone can chime in on how effective that is.

I'd love to have the sound of Stingers but without any drone.

You would probably want to use mufflers for the Z06 so they match up to your Z06 midpipe i.e. 3". Some choices are Borla, Corsa, B&B, Magnaflow, and LG Motorsports also have mufflers for the Z06. You could also suit up with some Z06 stock mufflers too. If I was going to change mufflers on my Z06 I would use LG's, hard to beat the price and sound.
