Has anyone else had their trans hump heat shield start to vibrate and rattle. Mine started doing this about a week or so ago on start up then after things warmed up it quieted down. Now it does it almost constantly. The dealer is replacing it under warranty, I just want to know if this is something I'm going to see again.
I was up till 2 am driving around trying to find the parameters to make a vibration/rattle to reoccur. It is so sporadic, I doubt I will nor anyone else will be able to find it to fix it. But it is there.
With the car up on a lift , someone in the car reving the engine and a good mechanic underneath , it will be found. As the vibration starts he can push on different areas of the shield and the vibration/rattle can be isolated. There's a good chance alot of people are thinking this sound is caused by low octaine/ pre ignition. With my car it started out very subtle but progressed rapidly.
Other benefits include:
● Rigidly ties the right and left inner chassis rails together
● A must for Coupes and Convertibles!
● Direct, bolt-on replacement
● Greater sense of control behind the wheel when cornering
● Reduced squeaks, creaks and noises while driving
● Significantly decreases the heat transferred to the interior console
● Sound deadening qualities
It's twice the thickness of the stock plate, and doesn't have the sound issues.

I had an intermittent rattle in the center of the car that drove me crazy trying to track it down. Found one of my x-pipe center support springs loose.
