What Transmission do I have?
Sorry if this not the best way to ask,,, but I have a 2005 C6 with an A4 and 3:15 gears. Is the transmission a 4L60E or a 4L65E and how can I tell the difference? What is the difference between the two?

Itsa 65e. The only differences between the 60 and 65 are a few internal upgrades. I never had any luck keeping the 4l60 series together in anything, but I have always had heavy vehicles (my last 4l60e was a 2002 pickup with 525rwhp....finally had to go to a 4l80e and after throwing everythin the aftermarket makes for it, I was able to make it hold.
I am skeptical that my A4 in my 2005 Vette is going to last but I suppose time will tell....

I had an A4 in my 2004 C5. I beat the crap out of it, had 3.73's and then eventually 4.10's(lots of wheel spin and shock loaded shifts). I drove the car aggressively and never had a tranny problem. I have heard the A4 is only good for 400 hp or so, but in my experience, it was rock solid.
