Default Oil catchcan LS-3

First I will say I am a novice working on engines, so I hope this is not to dumb a question. I would like to install a catch can on my LS-3 but all the install pictures and write ups do not show this engine. The rubber U shaped hose, to be removed, that is pictured in the instal does not appear on my car. The only thing close is a plastic ribbed tube that looks more like covered electric wire. It has some sort of clips on the ends that appear to attach it. If this is the proper tube how are the clips taken off? I could sure use some of your expertise to do my first DIY. Any help or pictures would be great. Thanks

www.eliteengineeringusa.com has complete install insrtuctions with pics.
I just installed one on my LS7 piece of cake, the u shaped hose is there on your girl friends side behind the electrical plugs. Look close in there with a flashlight you can see it.

Yes the LS3 has a plastic ribbed hose from the valley nipple to the nipple behind the TB. You push the little white clips to the side and the hose comes off. Then just follow this link for the rest of the install:

I'll add that the OEM air intake sound baffle box thingy on the pass side will force you to mount the can in a less convenient spot under the hood. An aftermarket CAI will eliminate that useless addition & allow you to bolt the can directly to the head. I say this because most catch can kits only give you enough hose to mount in that particular location.

BTW: it sounds like you are looking at the correct hose, it's about 6"' long

I have a can from CCA, this thread has many pics/Q's like yours: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...stock-cca.html

I forgot that the baffle is indeed a pain in the @ss. I ended up angling the top of the car back to clear the resonator. There is "just" enough hose to make it work. I also got rid of the drain valve on the bottom and just installed a pipe plug. I had to mount the can so low so the hose fitting would clear the resonator. I finally got a K&N intake so I can now mount the can in it upright position.

Default oil catchcan LS-3

Thanks for all the help, things appear to be better understood. I am
eyeing the hose clips that hold on the OEM hose, I can just see me break them. I would like to be a bit more professional taking them off Ha Ha. I am going to use a Norris motor sports can. It appears to look the same as the CCA but Norris has a few options if you want to dress up the install.

Thanks again for the help.

Default PCV tube removal on the LS3 motor

Can the LS3 members that have had a DIY catch can install experience, please share the tricks to use so I can get at/access the PCV tube on the motor so I can remove it. I have unplugged the module just above but their remains alot of plumbing in the way and I don't especially have large hands. So far I have not been able to do much other than touch or hold the PCV certainly not enough to remove. The rest of the install I expect to be quite straight forward. Thank you.
