Default are these used headers garbage?

Bought a set of used lg pro long tube headers during the winter, just finally took a good look at them today. Was not happy with what i discovered, cant find camera but try to describe them the best i can.

Just before the four pipes merge into the collector there has been a new piece of metal wielded onto the top inner side on the one header, on the other one at the same spot exactly there is a huge mess of spot welds.

Only thing i can think of is that they wore from rubbing and were repaired crappily before they were put for sale and i ended up with them.

Worth even installing? pay for install and tune to have an exhaust leak a month down the road

I'm thinking anything can be repaired......It sounds as if your talking about an area on the tube just before the collector? Should'nt be too hard for someone handy with a mig/tig welder. After you get them repaired, you could have them sent out to be powdercoated? It's gotta' suck that you didn't discover this till now? I'm sure if you had known, you could have got them cheaper? Do you know the guy you bought them from? Maybe he could refund some of your purchase price? Whatever you do make sure your satisfied with any repair before you go through all the effort of installing them.
Good luck
Mike

I agree. I'd look into repairing them before throwing them away.

A couple of things come to mind even without the pics. First is, take good pics. Second is, in cased no one here can tell, send the pics to LG in Texas. At the very least, they can identify them, and may even be able to tell you what is the right fix, vs. the quik fix.

To my knowledge, they are a quality outfit and put out a quality product. If the product was abused or broken somehow, and if it is their product, it could very well be in their best interest to at least understand what happened. And what could happen to other products they have.

Good luck.

found camera but cant find cord that connects it to computer. shows how much i use it

Anyway the headers came from Lg motorsports themselves as a take off set. So the repair they did must meet there specifications all though its not pretty, it just would have been really nice to know that such a repair had taken place. The pics that i was shown when i bought the headers showed no such thing. 500 dollars would have gotten me a new set. Serves me right for trying to pinch pennies on such a beautifal car

Headers supposed to be installed tomorrow morning, cross fingers.......

Corvette pro from around my area is installing them ill get his professional opinion before they go on, i might even buy a new camera to take video of the music its gonna make if they go on
