Default Exhaust options

I've been thinking of looking for a new setup on my c6. The C6 I purchased came with a Bolra which I'm not sure what model it is. I like sound which has little to no drone but looking for something a bit louder. I was looking into the Corsa exhaust but not sure if this would be a smart move ditching the Borla for a Corsa. Anyone have any suggestions on what Corsa to get pros or cons?

This is the only pictures I have now but will post better and closer pics tommorow in daylight.

I love my Corsa Xtreme. No drone at all sounds bad *** at WOT.

If you're looking for something louder, I'm guessing your current system is the Borla Touring.

I've just fitted a Borla Stinger system to my 08 C6 A6. It's very loud, but it does drone between about 1400-1700rpm under acceleration (but it's OK when cruising or at other revs). A friend had the Stinger system on his 05 and said he had no drone. Your profile doesn't say whether you have A4 or M6 box; if you have the A4 I probably wouldn't recommend the Stingers as you wouldn't be able to "shift around" the drone if it got too annoying for you.

Depends what you want. The general consensus is that Corsa doesn't drone, but it's higher-pitched noise. Borla Stingers give you the muscle-car sound, but the price is some drone.

If you want loud get B&B Bullets.

Well I want louder NOT DRONE loud if that makes sense. According to the videos I seen of Corsa setups they sound awesome however I do understand videos and in person are two different experiences.

Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to modify the sound a bit? The exhaust has an X pipe also but not sure if this is part of this exhaust system. Please pardon my vette noobness on this subject. I can take pictures of the system if this would help answer my question.

I know you and many others are set on louder as the criteria for what you get and i will let the others all tell you their preferences.

What I want to add as input because its usually a point brought up down the road by guys who have things too loud....there are many interactions between mods in the volume/tone department meaning other mods will add greatly to or put your car vastly over the line of obnoxious later on. Some mods that greatly change the sound/volume of your exhaust are:

Cam swap
Heads
Headers
Tune

Even an air cleaner assembly can change what you hear from the driver's seat.

If you plan on doing power mods to your car, be aware that most power mods make a car louder. many guys get the exhaust of their dreams only to find that headers and a cam later makes it unbearable to be in the car.

I have heard the corsa sports be way too much when the car had a max effort H/C job done with headers and no cats.

Dont be so fast to get a set of bullets especially when they add little to no power over the stock exhaust. A set of NPP's with a controller would be a safer bet for a car getting power mods done.

An exhaust is a personal choice and you do what you want with your money. I am simply making you aware that there were others on this forum who wished they heeded the warning.

I have Corsa Sport on my C6, and like the sound a lot. Not ridiculously loud (high school Mustang driver), but at high RPM under full throttle, it's stronnnng!

I think I will dive into the Corsa Xtreme for my C6 over the B&B. The setup I have now I will sell on the forums. Anyone have any regrets on the Xtreme setups at all noise wise?

Go for B & B Fusion, louder than stock closed and like Bullets when open.

if you want light weight and loud, a new solution that i noticed no one brought up was the new LGM exhaust.. i heard one on a c6 with long tubes and it sounded wicked.. and its really affordable too.

Ok after looking around for so long I finally got the Borla Stinger system. The exhaust sound is just what I was looking for. The sound is NOT euro more like a muscle car tone but a mean sound at that. The drone is there especially at around 1400-1800 RPM but it is not to a point that drives me crazy. Overall I am satisfied but I can see where for some the drone and sound may be too much for others. This is how the vette should have sounded directly from the factory.

Ed- have you thought about just getting some headers? IMO headers are a much more pleasing solution than just buying another cat back. I have ARH longtubes with cats. I have a youtube video of it somewhere. If you want i can post it. It wouldnt be the same sound for youthough since you have the borla and i have npp.

Post it up Allen but I have thought of headers but with the headers comes more drone correct me if I am wrong. My future plans are cams, headers, tune and maybe some light porting and polishing.

I will look for it and post it tonight.

If you want no drone the only real solution is NPP. Under 3k the car is dead queit, just a little meaner than stock but over 3k it is a loud beast. Couple NPP with mild 2 wild and you can be loud when you want at any rpm and quiet when you want. You will notice how quiet my car is on the dyno because of npp.

I had the Stingers and felt like you that the droning was livable however once I installed the Z06 manifold, cats, and h-pipe, the droning became unbearable. BTW, great mod for some extra HP and hopefully I can get around passing smog being in Ca. IMHO, anything like headers, intake, cam, etc. that will make the Stingers louder the droning will get louder. In as much as I liked the sound of the Stingers I changed to the Corsa Sport and yes it's not as deep as the Borla's but most importantly there is no drone. I have to say that it's so nice to be able to talk or listen to music again while crusing however it's pretty aggressive under WOT. I was thinking of going with the Extreme's but was told that I would get some droning so that was the reason I chose the Sport. I also prefer the look of the tips on the Corsa so it was kinda of a trade off.
