Hello, I have a 2006 Blue C6 with all the bells and whistles,Bought this car new, May 2006 right off the truck. Car has just turn 32,000 miles old, love the car!! hate that its been in the shop alot, with no fix to the new problem with it.

I hope some one can help?

Back in April the car was making a chirpping sound on start up, for a week I think before I called ONSTAR to make a call to my local chev dealer.I Drop the car off with them since they told me that the Harmonic Balancer was comming off the car and I can not drive it untill it is fix about 2 or 3 weeks because of parts? Well i get the car back after 2 weeks, runs fine, but they bent the alum heat fins on some thing down below and has said the car will be fine,(But it was not bent when i gave them the car!!!!)as i said to them untill I was blue in the face.Nothing has been done about that yet since, now i have other things going on

Wife called me after she just filled the car up and said it would not start
after pushing the button a couple times and when it did stat it was a delay, push and wait 10 sec then it would start and run rough and the tach did not work ,ONSTAR again had her turn the car off and back on and it all worked again,ONSTAR called dealer.So again i drop the car off to them again,they said they could not find anything wrong other than the airbag wire under the driver seat needed to be replaced. I have had that same wire replaced 2 times before this.So again i pick the car up over the weekend and what happens again, but on me!! so again I drop the car off with them but this time it was doing what i told them and had the service guy drive the car and see how rough the car does driving it and with no tach at the time.This time they said it was the BCM? They donot have the part again and said not sure when it would be in,but its ok to drive it untill then.Well next day would not start had to get a tow to the dealer, 2 days later they called, the car is ready. I get the car and the next day I go out of town with it and it happen again to me,but this time i get the same thing and a New charging system displayed, called them over weekend and they said they are not sure whats going on with it?????????????????? But drop it off again!!

This is work they have done this past month 1/2
Replaced the Harmonic Balancer
BCM
Reflash system
Replaced altenator
Replaced battery
Replaced F-Module
Repaired air bag system

Where to go from here?
Still hard to start at times.
When it does
charging system display comes on then goes off
Runs rough when it does this

 

Bad volt regulator in alternator? Wild guess.

 

The electrical system in these vettes is worse then anything dodge had problems with. I went through the whole service charging system crap, which after two trips they replaced alternator, battery and all the wires to an from. Two weeks later came on again, had a local shop rig something up and it stopped. Less then 2 mths from then my brand new battery was completely dead and would not hold a charge.

I spent some bucks on a high output alternator and optima yellow top, still had low volt reading on the speed cluster gauge. I hooked up a battery led readout for car audio...at idle my battery led shows 14.4/14.6, I go look at the gauge on the cluster and itll hover around 12 an dip into the 11s.
