sounds like traction control...my c6 is the first car i have with traction control and it's weird when it hits!
If you start spinning it'll cut off or limit fuel....but without traction control you need very good throttle control so not to spin!

If you punch it hard on take off and the TC is on it will pull timing and make the car bog untill the car detects no sliping at the wheels. I normally drive with mine on unless I know Im going to punch it hard then I turn it off.
