Want to add some exhaust . I want to obviously a louder sound than staock but I also want to hear myself think. Which system offers the more mellow sound?.. Thanks.MIke

I've recently fitted Borla Stingers to my '08 A6 vert. The system sounds fantastic, with a deep rumble when accelerating and nice crackling when off the gas. There is drone between 1400 and 1700 rpm, but only when accelerating - when cruising, or at any other revs there's no drone. Having said that, I use the paddles all the time...if you do a lot of low-speed driving (i.e. under 80) and stay in Drive/Sport you could spend all your time in the drone zone.
My C6 is my only car, and it's still perfectly usable with the Stingers.
I have the GM Performance (offroad) exhaust, which are made by Borla. I love them. Nice rumble and they roar when you rev it. But not loud when cruising. There is a slight "drone" as mentioned above. But hey, it's a Corvette, not a Cadillac DTS. Isn't that part of the reason we buy one? I still miss the factory side exhaust on my '66 427/425!: cool:
You should probably look at Corsa Xtreme. The sound is great and best of all the tips look much better than the rolled tip Borla. With my setup there is slight drone but acceptable.
I have to say I'm a Borla Man. Got 'em on my GMC and on my Vette. The truck is a Cat Back and has a great low note with a little rumble off throttle. The Vette has Stingers with an X Pipe. It screams at WOT and has a very aggressive rumble down shifting off throttle. Only way it will sound better is when I put some headers on.
Personally, I like the rolled tip more than the Corsa tip. Also, I can't speak for the Corsa, the Borla Stingers do have a drone. It is most notable during acceleration between 1400rpm and 1700rpm. However, it is also notable (in my car) around 70mph. I usually just kick it up to 75mph or 80mph.
The Corsas, again my opinion, are raspy. More of a race car sound.

I have Corsa Sports with Kooks 1 3/4 headers. The sound especially at WOT is a lot like a race car...the high RPM revving sound is great, not too high pitched. I love them with 580 WHP
i have corsa xtreme and i am happy with it but ıf you have the factory sport exhaust dont spend your money on an aftermarket exhaust.there is no drone with extreme until you push them a lot
I didnt say they were better of worse...I just said you can't compare their tones, which you cant. Borla is still a lot deeper sounding than the xtremes.
The xtremes are WORLDS better than Corsa sports though.
I'm running a stroked LSX455 with Corsa Sports - no drone to be found. While I've been told it sounds "wicked" at WOT, I am curious what Borlas & B&B's sound like. Never really heard what the car sounds like outside of the driver seat, so I have no definitive answer and can only go on what others say.
If there's anyone in Houston who cares to give me a ride in a car sporting different exhaust, I'd love to go for a ride! Hell, I might be inclined to trade exhaust, provided it goes from 4 tips to 2.
Corsa to me is more of an exotic/euro sound. Say whatever but who doesn't like that V8 euro sound? Yes I know its a Vette and to most it should sound like every other V8 car, but to me its something different and sounds AWESOME!
