Default hidden NPP switch.

Hey guys, I don't know if this has been posted, but here is where I put my NPP switch. Good location for it and for any "hardware" activation (nitrous, bottle heater etc etc)

All you have to do is pull the cig ltr fuse, then undo the console so you have space for your hands to run the wires thru the cig ltr. It has some square cuts. I use two 18 gauge wires, fed them thru and solder them to the switch (from autozone). If you use smaller gauge wire, you might have enough room to run the gnd wire for the little light in the switch. I only had 18 gauge, and with 3, the switch would pop out.
I used some shrinkable sleeves at the switch on each wire for isloation. Did a Gnd test for precaution, ran the wires (per the diy on here -works sweet!-). Of course, do not put the cig ltr fuse back in.

note: I did not remove the cig ltr at all, the switch is of the exact same diamer than the lighter, and it has holding tongs on each side, so just slide it in and pop it in!

Great idea !

That's amazing that the switch just SNAPS into place in the lighter !!

Very Cool.

Why not just disconnect the power plug to the lighter? Pulling the fuse also kills the aux outlet in the console.

Ok, I verified this, and according to the schematic of the fuse box, you have one 20A fuse labled as cig ltr and another one as aux pwr. So, pulling the cig ltr fuse would have no effect on the aux power

ps: this is on an 08, I do not know if prior model years are the same.

yup, talk about luck!. The hardest part was to run the wires, and solder them to the switch. You can use connectors as the switch, as the effectively make the whole assembly too long. I had to solder and bend them sideway so they are oriented towards the whole (there's two, one at the 2 o'clock and one at the 8 o'clock, I used the one at 2 o'clock). Just gotta mess with it to get it right.
