What is the operating temperature range for the A6 transmission?

before my torque converter my normal temps were 170/190 with outside temps around
90 to 95, with the converter they were 210/220, with a trans cooler they went down to
180/190
hope this works

mine are always around the coolant temps--usually a little higher than coolant once fully warmed up (in traffic)

Thanks for the replies but I'm actually wanting to know what is the maximum temperature I can run my tranny without hurting it.

I see 180+ routinely with everyday driving. It stays consistently around 195~200 with spirited driving. I've seen 210 in traffic but I think that's about the highest I recall.

do not now what is the max op temp. I think the car goes into limp mode when it is reached. Try a PM to Thesubfloor. He might help you on this.

anyone know how the stock C6 trans cooler compares to a stock C5 one? Are they about the same size?

the cooler is iside the radiator, no way to tell, no external cooler
