Although I use this fluid in both my 02 Z06 track car and my 06 CTS-V daily driver without extra additive and neither diff chatters, the C6 diff seems to need one bottle of the additive.
Been using it for close to 3 years without issue. My engine, trans, and dif all use Amsoil.
I had a lot of rear end noise so i had the differential fluid changed and i used the Dextron fluid from chevy. After doing a couple of figure 8s the noise had quieted down by like 75% but now it is back?(it has been approximately one week since the change) should i add a tube of the Amsoil additive or could it be something else?

I assume that you used the new DEXRON LS fluid and did not add any additive separately. If that is the case, I would next go ahead and add 4 ozs of either the GM slip lock additive or the AMSOIL additive (which ever is easiest for you to obtain). Don't add more additive if you have already added a separate bottle. Add and do more figure 8s. I would give it a few weeks of DD before deciding success or not. If not successful, I would next do another fluid change with AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W90 and add a 4 oz bottle of their slip lock additive. I feel sure the AMSOIL will do the trick for you as it did for me over 30 months ago after my Z was chattering very badly even after a dealer fluid change with the old Goodwrench fluid. JMHO.

I had the Amsoil 75W90 fluid change but the shop didn't use the Amsoil slip lock even though they are a Amsoil dealer. Instead they used the GM addictive because they said it's more quieter than the Amsoil Slip lock.

Regarding the Slip Lock Additive, I would be good to use either GM or AMSOIL. Your shop seems to think that the GM additive is better so its hard to go against good shop experience in that regard.

Basically all fluids they use are Amsoil even the brake fluid but for some reason they use the GM additive because it is quieter.
We have been using RedLine 75w90 Light Weight Gear oil in all of our street, track, and race cars for years now with absolutely no issues.
In stock and ready to ship!
Isn't the Lightweight (Shockproof) a different product than the 75W90 gear oil? Or is the Redline 75W90 also called lightweight?
So are you using/recommending the "standard" Redline 75W90 and additional friction modifier (doesn't it already include the friction modifier?)? How much modifier is required? A full bottle? Or do you mean 75W90NS plus friction modifier?

My only experience in using Redline is that it doesn't require any additional modifiers and it saved me from selling my other car with 5 spd. transmission. After the MTL Redline was put in the shifts were so smooth very easy engagement in gear box.
Yup per the instructions that came with my DTE differential rebuild. They will not honor warranty if this oil is not used. Should make things quite for sure.
